so many topics to preach about. hm
it just bugs me, i guess. normally it’s something that i can roll with because ~EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY~, but the event described earlier was with someone who i previously explained asexuality to. though i must have done a terrible job because that shit happened today. (HONESTLY, THOUGH. WHAT RELEVANCE TO THE CONVERSATION WAS IT?? UNLESS ANYONE ON THAT SKYPE CALL WAS ALSO ASEXUAL.)
to be fair, i understand that asexuality is something that a lot of people don’t know about, mainly because ace “visibility” is like, next to nothing—don’t even get me started on that “passing privilege” bullshit, OH MY GOD—and because of internet magic, a lot of people are now learning that there is a name for the way that they’ve been feeling. and that there are others who feel like that as well!
that and the fact that it’s something that people have a hard time grasping for whatever fucking reason. ha. haha. if i could tell you the amount of times i’ve heard, “wait… do you mean asexual reproduction?” and “it’s just a phase, you’ll meet someone eventually”…. ಠ__ಠ
don’t tell me who i am and how i feel, thanks. if i later decide that i wrongly misinterpreted my romantic or sexual attraction, then i will own up to it. AND POLITELY ASK YOU TO CHOKE DOWN THE URGE TO SAY, “I TOLD YOU SO”
